Indonesia Design District will be Coming Soon at PIK 2

Jakarta, May 30, 2022 - Indonesia Design District (IDD), the first largest and most comprehensive design and furniture center in Indonesia will be coming soon at Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2), on an area of ​​approx. 10 hectares. Developed by Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group, this one-stop home & living furniture center will be a showcase for more than 200 leading brands.

Carrying the concept of an outdoor oriented mall, each store will stand alone and visitors can walk leisurely from one store to another that connected by a wide corridor. The green atmosphere and various supporting facilities provided will make the shopping experience more comfortable.

The start of IDD construction was marked by the holding of ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, May 30, 2022 at PIK 2 which was attended by Angela Herliani Tanoesoedibjo as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Republic of Indonesia. Also present local regional officials, including Ahmed Zaki Iskandar - Tangerang Regent, Kombes Pol Zein Dwi Nugroho - Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Lt. Col. Inf. Bangun I.E. Siregar - Tangerang Military District Command. This event was also attended by the BOD of Agung Sedayu Group, tenants who have joined this project and other invited guests.

The tenants who join IDD are the leading tenants in the furniture, interior and accessories industry, including: BIKA Living, Stellamobili, Vivere, Melandas, Magran, Malinda Furniture Gallery, King Koil, Sleep & Co., ROCA, TOTO, MM Gallery, Box Living, Malka, Metaphor, Sub-Zero, Juno Home, Versailes, Vastu Home and many others. In addition, there are also F&B tenants presented at IDD such as Bandar Djakarta seafood restaurant, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, as well as various trendy cafes to relax.

Quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that the furniture industry as a labour-intensive and export-oriented sector plays an important role in making a significant contribution to efforts to recover the national economy. He added that the performance of the furniture industry was able to rise and grow positively by 8.04% in the first quarter of 2021 after experiencing a 7.28% contraction due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the same period in the previous year.

"The presence of the Indonesia Design District as the largest and most comprehensive for design and furniture center in Indonesia is expected to contribute significantly in supporting the growth of the Indonesian furniture industry, as well as an incubation facility for highly competitive creative industries," said Angela Herliani Tanoesoedibjo as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia.

The Most Complete Retail Space for Local and International Markets

Strategically located on the main road PIK 2, namely Jl. Thamrin and Jl. Rasuna Said with a ROW width of approx. 50m, Indonesia Design District is only approx. 7 minutes from Soekarno Hatta International Airport. The construction of the PIK 2 direct toll road access, which is currently underway and targeted for completion in Q4-2023, will make it easier for visitors, both domestic and international.
