On Saturday, February 8th, 2025, the Bamboo Piggy Bank Pouring event was held at the Tzu Chi Center, Pantai Indah Kapuk, attended by employees of Agung Sedayu Group. The event was also graced by the presence of Sugianto Kusuma, Founder & Chairman of Agung Sedayu Group and Vice Chairman of the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation. 

The bamboo piggy bank embodies the spirit that anyone can give to charity, even with small donations. The funds collected through the bamboo piggy bank are distributed by the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia to those in need, particularly underprivileged families, to assist with medical expenses, education costs, home renovations, and disaster relief efforts. 

Benjamin Barnabas Salindeho, Director of the Group Human Resources Department at Agung Sedayu Group, expressed his gratitude in his speech to the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia for inviting Agung Sedayu Group to participate and collaborate in spreading kindness to the community. 

“Why do we have the bamboo piggy bank? Because this is how the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation started–our teacher, Master Cheng Yen, began with a bamboo piggy bank. From 30 women back then, today Tzu Chi has expanded to 55 countries, making it an international organization. It is not just in Indonesia but all over the world,” said Sugianto Kusuma. 

This event reflects the collaboration between Agung Sedayu Group and the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, both of which are committed to continuously contributing and sharing with the community. The collected funds will be allocated to various programs, including the Bebenah Kampung (Village Revitalization) Program. Natalia Kusumo, CEO of Commercial & Hotel Agung Sedayu Group (Amantara), elaborated, “Today, we are very proud–all members of the board of directors are present at this event. We consistently contribute funds through the bamboo piggy bank. Through this event, we reaffirm our commitment to giving back to the community. Tzu Chi has very clear programs divided into 4 main categories: Healthcare, Charity, Education, and Humanistic Culture. One of the highlighted programs today is Bebenah Kampung. The funds collected from the Bamboo Piggy Bank Pouring event will be used for various programs, including Bebenah Kampung. We hope that the synergy between Agung Sedayu and Tzu Chi will lead to even more programs, allowing us to contribute more. Hopefully, this can also inspire other companies to take part in sharing.”
