SPIKE AIR DOME INDONESIA’S FIRST INNOVATION
Spike Air Dome is set to debut in the CBD area of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, covering an area of ±10,000m2, as a groundbreaking innovation and the first of its kind in Indonesia to be environmentally friendly.
Unlike conventional buildings that typically take over a year to construct for a similar size, the construction of Spike Air Dome was completed in about 4.5 months.
The Air Dome technology offers significant advantages, including much lower construction costs compared to traditional buildings. Spike Air Dome utilizes solar energy through transparent strips for daytime lighting, reducing electricity needs significantly. The membrane used is also insulative, effectively retaining heat and minimizing cooling requirements, making its operations more energy-efficient.
Currently, Spike Air Dome has completed its “Blowing” phase, with the A Dome spanning ±4,247m2 now fully built. The main challenge during the installation of Spike Air Dome at PIK2 was the weather, particularly rain, which could cause water pooling on the membrane. The inflation process itself takes only 1 to 2 hours to achieve the perfect Air Dome shape. The PVDF material used is capable of withstanding wind pressures up to 67 m/s and loads of up to 250 kg/m2, making it suitable for various activities such as concerts, exhibition halls, logistics centers, material storage warehouses, factories, and training halls. This project also serves as a pilot project for the construction of Air Domes in other regions of Indonesia.
As a multifunctional space, Spike Air Dome is designed to host various national and international events such as music concerts, exhibitions, bazaars, sports activities, festivals, and more.
