As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, PIK2 conducted a planting of 1,000 bamboo seedlings and launched the 30-Species Bamboo Arboretum Conservation Area along the Cisadane River Basin (DAS Cisadane). The event took place on February 14, 2025, in Pangkalan Village, Teluknaga Sub-District, Tangerang Regency. 

This conservation area is the first of its kind in Indonesia, integrating a 30-species bamboo arboretum with an Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST). This holistic environmental solution combines ecosystem conservation, waste management, and community empowerment, aiming to create a greener and more sustainable environment. Additionally, it has the potential to develop into an eco-tourism hub, providing economic, social, and environmental benefits for the residents of Pangkalan Village, Teluknaga Sub-District. 

“From the 1,000 bamboo trees we planted today, God willing, this will grow into even more. Bamboo holds a deep philosophical meaning–it grows closely together, never scattered, always united, and it plays a crucial role in absorbing water and preventing landslides. Once matured, bamboo can also be used as building materials for structures, roofs, walls, and even floors. This truly makes bamboo an extraordinary plant. Today’s event is remarkable as well, as it brings together the Sub-District Government, the Village Administration, and all elements of the community in collaboration. We at PIK2 are honored to be part of this initiative,” said Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, M.M., Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group. 

Rizki Rizani Fahzi, S.IP., M.Si., the Sub-District Secretary of Teluknaga, also expressed his enthusiasm, “Let’s all take care of this place together, as it has been initiated by the Village Head and PIK2. We envision this area becoming a tourist village in the future, where people can enjoy recreational activities like paddle boating, everything will be available right here in Pangkalan Village.” He also expressed gratitude to PIK2 for continuously working alongside the community and providing support through its CSR programs.
