The presence of road connectivity plays an important role in connecting regions on each island for the welfare of the community. Road infrastructure plays a role in expediting the distribution of basic necessities, reducing logistics costs, connecting production areas with distribution areas, opening up employment opportunities and accelerating added value for the people’s economy.

Wednesday, 20 December 2023, in commemoration of National Road Day, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Highways held the Peak Commemoration of National Road Day 2023 at the Auditorium of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Jl. Pattimura No. 20, South Jakarta. A series of National Road Day commemoration events took place from October to December 2023 with the theme “Construction 4.0 for Innovative, Collaborative and Optimal Road Management”.

Some of the events that have been completed include competitions, Bina Marga Go To School Regional Actions, Photo Exhibitions, and the PUPR National Young Generation Seminar. So that in the future, through creative innovations, it can provide benefits for the development of roads in Indonesia, especially for the community and stakeholders.

PT. Duta Graha Karya, which is a consortium of the Salim Group and Agung Sedayu Group which has won the Kamal – Teluknaga – Rajeg Toll Project with a length of ±38.60 Km, and has signed the Toll Road Concession Agreement or PPJT on 1st of August 2023, also participated and contributed. This toll road access will later be connected directly to the PIK2 independent city area or The New Jakarta City.

The construction of the Kamal – Teluknaga – Rajeg Toll Road aims to develop the northern part of Tangerang Regency, as well as an effort to support smooth vehicle traffic in Banten Province and DKI Jakarta Province.

Commemoration of National Road Day is also a reflection of the national, provincial and district road constructions that have been carried out to benefit the community. And it is a momentum to work together to increase enthusiasm for building and maintaining existing road infrastructure.
