On Wednesday, June 14th 2023, the inauguration of Tzu Chi Hospital Pantai Indah Kapuk was held. Inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo accompanied by the Health Minister of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Defense of Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Minister of State Secretary of Indonesia Pratikno, Chief of the Indonesian National Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono who was accompanied by Sugianto Kusuma as Chairman of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medika Foundation (Founder of Agung Sedayu Group), Chairperson of the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation Indonesia Tsai Liu Su Mei, and President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital dr. Gunawan Susanto.

Tzu Chi Hospital under the auspices of the Tzu Chi Medika Foundation Indonesia, which was built based on the principles of respect for the soul, prioritizing life and love kindness. Moreover, it is equipped with the presence of the first bone marrow transplant center in Indonesia, not to mention there is also a Thalassemia Service Unit, Medical Rehabilitation, Hybrid OT Robotic Services, Radiology, and Nucleology.

Jokowi complimented the facilities at Tzu Chi Hospital for treating cancer and thalassemia. He considered the medical equipment and infrastructure at Tzu Chi Hospital to be very modern.

"I was just circling around to see the patient treatment facilities both related to cancer and bone marrow," said Jokowi. According to him, the hospital with 576 rooms is equipped with very advanced hospital equipment and facilities, this is expected to make Indonesians to no longer seek treatment abroad when they are sick. "We want everyone to be healthy. But if you are sick, do not go abroad. Just go to Tzu Chi Hospital," he said.

On this occasion, Jokowi signed an inscription marking the inauguration of the Tzu Chi Hospital in Jakarta.
