PIK2, a masterpiece developed by leading property developer with more than 50 years of experience, Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group. Monument of General Sudirman in CBD PIK2 was officially inaugurated on Friday, (03/2/2023). Marked by the signing of the plaque by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Admiral H. Yudo Margono, this 15-meter-tall monument has become a symbol to appreciate and commemorate General Soedirman’s services in seizing and defending the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The event which was attended by the Indonesian National Armed Forces ranks, the local authorities, and Board of Directors from Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group was opened with the national anthem Indonesia Raya, then followed by a video presentation of the story of General Soedirman’s struggles and remarks.

“The establishment of the Panglima Besar Jenderal Soedirman Monument could not be separated from the roles and initiatives and contributions of various parties, we represent the Indonesian National Armed Forces and also as the next generation would like to express our gratitude and high appreciation to all parties for their participation in making this monument. We also hope that this monument can be beneficial to the community, apart from being a symbol to commemorate General Soedirman’s services and to inspire the younger generation.” Concluded the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Admiral H. Yudo Margono, in his remarks at the inauguration ceremony.

Vice Admiral of the Indonesian Navy (Retired) Freddy Numberi, S.IP, Advisor to Group CEO gave a speech as a representative from the President Director of Agung Sedayu Group, Lieutenant General of the Indonesian Marines Corps (Retired) Dr. Nono Sampono, S.Pi., MSI. “This monument is a form of nationalism shown by PIK2. Apart from the Soedirman Monument, PIK2 also named its main roads after National Patriots which is also  a way to commemorate the services of the Nation’s Patriots.”

Ganang Priambodo Soedirman was present as a representative from General Soedirman’s family and also gave remarks to the attendees. The event was also enlivened by the achievement of MURI Record from the Indonesian World Record Museum to PIK2 represented by Richard Kusuma and Natalia Kusumo as CEO of PIK2.

This monument signifies its position as a work of art for residents and visitor PIK2 to reminisce about the figure of General Soedirman, that certainly adds the aesthetic value of the area and marked the main gate of CBD PIK2 which is right at PIK2 toll exit that planned to be completed in early 2024. The momentum of General Soedirman’s struggle in 1948 is set forth into the design of the monument with the philosophy of a statue representing the number 1, the shape of the nine-sided pedestal representing the number 9, the steps on the first trap form 4 corners representing the number 4 and the second step of the trap in the form of an octagon represented the number 8.
