Friday, September 13th, 2024, President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Swissotel Nusantara Hotel and carried out groundbreaking for the Nusantara Duty Free Mall in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

The complex, which includes a starred hotel, shopping center, services apartments and various other supporting facilities that carry a people-oriented and green and futuristic concept, is a project built by the Nusantara Consortium.

In his speech, President Jokowi gave his highest appreciation to the Nusantara Consortium for their success in building Swissotel Nusantara within a period of 9 months. 
“Hopefully it can encourage the development of city ecosystems in the archipelago and attract crowds. That way, Nusantara will become a busy city and we can encourage the movement of as many ASN as possible,” said the President.

The President Director of PT Kusuma Putra Alam, Ali Hanafia Lijaya, in his report explained that his mixed-use complex was built with the aim of attracting interests, both local and international. It is hoped that this project can improve the economy of residents around IKN with an investment value of ±5 trillion.

“Hopefully the Nusantara Duty Free Mall project can welcome the New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia (Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju),” concluded Ali. 
Swissotel Nusantara has started operating in conjunction with the commemoration of the 79th Independence Day of Indonesia. The hotel offers facilities in the form of 191 luxury rooms, NUSA Restaurant, meeting rooms with various capacities, swimming pool and fitness center. 

Furthermore, Nusantara Duty Free Mall will be managed by ASRI, a subsidiary of Agung Sedayu Group which is known for managing well-known malls in Jakarta, such as Mall of Indonesia, ASHTA District 8, SCBD, PIK Avenue, Grand Galaxy Park Bekasi and Hublife Taman Anggrek Residences. It is hoped that the existence of Nusantara Duty Free Mall can further strengthen IKN’s position as a modern and integrated center in the future.
