SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR JR CONNEXION PIK2 – KCIC STATION
With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the Flag Off Ceremony, access to KCIC Halim Station from PIK2 and vice versa has become more convenient, complementing the free JR Connexion service that already serves other strategic routes. As part of the commitment to providing comfortable, efficient, and integrated public transportation for residents and visitors, as well as enhancing accessibility and convenience, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Perum DAMRI and PT. Karunia Indo Sejahtera took place on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at KCIC Halim Station.
With the Flag Off Ceremony for the JR Connexion service, the PIK2 – KCIC Halim Station route has now been officially launched. This follows the successful introduction of JR Connexion transportation services for routes such as PIK2 – MRT Blok M Station, PIK2 – Sedayu City Kelapa Gading, PIK2 – BSD – Bintaro, PIK2 – Lebak Bulus, and PIK2 – Residence One Serpong.
“In this collaboration, DAMRI is partnering with Agung Sedayu Group. Previously, DAMRI had already served the PIK2 to Blok M route, where MRT transportation is available. Today, we are opening a new route connecting to the high-speed rail station, commonly known as “Whoosh” due to its remarkable speed. This is an extraordinary technological advancement, and its excellence is combined with comfort, linking the station with a development called PIK2. We see this as an exceptional collaboration, where KCIC, with its latest technology and modern station, is connected to a shuttle transportation mode to PIK2. This ensures that passengers using the high-speed train can easily reach various locations in PIK2. I deeply appreciate this collaboration, and I hope it will continue to other locations where Agung Sedayu Group has existing and developing projects,” said Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, MM, Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group, in his speech.
The presence of this DAMRI service provides easy access for the public, making travel from PIK2 to Bandung faster, more convenient, and more efficient. Likewise, Bandung residents now have easier access to enjoy various top destinations in PIK2, such as White Sand Beach, Land’s End, Aloha Pasir Putih, and the exclusive atmosphere of Orange Groves. For design and photography enthusiasts, the Indonesia Design District is an attractive destination to explore.
Agus Hari Survijanto, Senior Vice President of DAMRI, explained, “We have been given the opportunity to operate the shuttle service from KCIC to PIK, which aligns with our commitment to intermodal transportation and the JR Connexion service. Regarding this service, we hope to officially launch it today. Our regular commercial operations will begin on February 15th, 2025. We hope that after the 15th, this service will run smoothly, and we need support from all stakeholders present here, as well as from the customers we will serve.”
“This is an innovation called seamless mobility, in line with our motto at BPTJ, “Seamless.” The journey from Bandung to PIK is now scheduled as a single, integrated trip. One of the key services is this JR Connexion (JRC). Why JRC? Because it serves residential areas and clusters, where we aim to reduce private vehicle usage and encourage public transportation. At this stage, we may use smaller vehicles, but in the future, we will offer improved services such as work desks on board, so it will be more advanced compared to now. We hope passengers will use JRC for their commutes. Our vision for a seamless transportation system is an integrated information system where passengers traveling from Bandung to PIK only need to book once and do not have to pay additional fees. A single payment system ensures passengers do not incur extra costs. This is our future vision–to integrate travel patterns into a single-payment system,” explained Solihin Purwantara, S.SiT, Head of the Safety Control Sub-Directorate at the Directorate of Safety Development.
The launch of this route is a tangible step in enhancing connectivity and supporting sustainable tourism development in Indonesia. With the PIK2 – KCIC Halim Station route, connectivity is further strengthened, opening up more opportunities for the future.
