On Saturday, 23 December 2023, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, B.B.A, M.B.A. visited the PIK2 The New Jakarta City to inspect several areas which will later become one of the most iconic tourist destinations in PIK2 in the next one or two years, namely the Safari Zoo & Golf Course and Bhinneka Park which are part of the symbols of diversity in Indonesia. Apart from that, there are also mangrove tourist areas, the International Circuit and PIK2 White Sand Beach. This new iconic area is also quite close to the airport, around ±10 minutes.

During his visit, Sandiaga Uno explained, “This is one of the things we will push as a national strategic project. However, to make the name cooler, it was proposed that the name be not PIK2 but Tropical Couzland/Tousland. In the future, the tourist destinations will be nature, there will also be religion, there will be culture because there is Bhinneka Park, there will be sports tourism because there will be golf and also culinary tourism and shopping tourism. Also because there will be a large MICE area of around ±100 thousand hectares, it will become a MICE tourism site too. This is a complete tourist destination and deserves to be encouraged as a national strategic project.”

Tropical Couzland/Tousland is part of a tourism-based national strategic project because the total area is ±1600 Ha and around ±100 Ha of infrastructure is already underway and will be built in the next few years. The future target for this area is to absorb ±10 million jobs and ±20 million tourists who will visit the PIK2 area. This not only makes the PIK2 area a local tourist area but also a tourist area for foreigners. It has an enormous potential.

Sandiaga hopes that the movement of local and foreign tourists can make a significant contribution to the economic movement in Indonesia. And in the future, the PIK2 area can become a proud area and become one of Indonesia’s tourism centers.
