The Indonesian Vegetarian Society (IVS), Vegan Society Indonesia (VSI) and the World Vegan Organization (WVO) held The 8th WVO Conference & Vegan Festival 2023 event, together with World Vegan Film (Asia), with the theme Go VEGAN, for a more Sustainable World on May 12th-14th at the Hilton Garden Inn Palem and Green Sedayu Mall in West Jakarta.

The 8th WVO Conference & Vegan Festival 2023 is a global event that aims to promote the benefits of the vegan lifestyle for human health, animal protection and the environment. This event is a gathering place for the vegan community, activists, academicians and professionals from around the world to share their knowledge, experiences and best practices to create a healthier and more sustainable world.

The 8th WVO Conference will feature Keynote Speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and presentations on various topics related to veganism, including nutrition, health, animal protection, and the environment.  Meanwhile, the Vegan Festival will feature a variety of local and international vegan products, services and food, as well as competitions, musical performances and entertainment.  Additionally, World Vegan Film (Asia) will be co-hosted with the event, showcasing a selection of inspiring and thought-provoking films that promote veganism and animal protection, and explore facts about the meat, dairy and egg industries.

The film festival will also include a question and answer session with special guest speaker, Keegan Kuhn (Award Winning Film Director & Producer of “Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret”, executive produced for Netflix by Leonardo DiCaprio, and film "What The Health", executive produced  by Joaquin Phoenix).  Keegan will share his insights and experiences on the importance of veganism and sustainable living, and their impact on our planet.

Veganism can also encourage more sustainable use of resources.  Through the theme "Go Vegan for A More Sustainable World", the Vegan Festival 2023 can be an event to educate about the benefits of VEGAN, as well as show how sustainable decision-making can have a positive impact on the environment, health and society as well as for the planet earth as a whole.
