In order to welcome the Chinese New Year, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chinese Committee (KIKT) held a Wood Dragon New Year Celebration event on Friday 2 February 2024 at Pantjoran PIK, North Jakarta.

Chairman of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Garibaldi Thohir as Chairman of KIKT togetehr with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto were present at this event. Minister of State Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir and politician Maruarar Sirait also attended this event.

The founder of Agung Sedayu Group, Sugianto Kusuma also known as Aguan, who hosted the event which took place at Pantjoran PIK, welcomed this event and collaborated with a number of big-name entrepreneurs such as Anthony Salim, Franky Widjaja, Prajogo Pangestu and other well0known enterpreneurs.

The Year of the Wood Dragon is interpreted as a new beginning for success, because the Wood Dragon only appears once every 60 years, making it a rare and amazing creature. Therefore, the sense of optimism among businessmen should be encouraged. According to Chinese astrology, 2024 will be celebrated as the Year of the Dragon which will start from 10 February 2024 to 28 January 2025.

"For this reason, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chinese Committee holds a "Wood Dragon New Year Celebration" as a form of gratitude and optimism to welcome the blessings and opportunities this year, especially in welcoming new leaders who are of course expected to contribute to increasing the prosperity of society and the country," said Garibaldi Tohir in his speech.
