PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) held a groundbreaking ceremony for an office tower with the concept of "The Icon of Emerald" in the Central Business District (CBD) Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 business and commercial area, Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday, 19 February 2024. The groundbreaking ceremony for the BNI Tower was inaugurated by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir. Sugianto Kusuma or who is familiary called Aguan as the Founder of Agung Sedayu Group also attended this event with the President Director of BNI Roykee Tumilaar.

"The BNI tower at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) has a very interesting concept, namely the best green building owned by a BUMN," said Erick. According to him, this is an example of collaboration between BUMN and the private sector.
It is known that the PIK2 area itself is owned by Agung Sedayu Group led by Sugianto Kusuma. Erick views the establishment of the BNI tower as an investment in building existing infrastructure in PIK2, nothing other than supporting facilities for overall economic growth. It is hoped that BNI, as one of the state-owned banks, can contribute to boosting economic growth.

President Director of BNI Roykee Tumilaar explained that the BNI tower which stands in the PIK2 area will later become BNI's new icon, replacing the BNI tower in the Kota Tua area because currently the tower has been commercially demolished. "Our new landmark is BNI in the PIK2 area," added Roykee Tumilaar.

The building area of the BNI Tower is planned to reach ±81,000m2 with three towers; the Emerald Tower, Office Tower, and Facility Tower. Built on a land area of ±10,000m2, according to Roykee, this project will later receive a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certificate, which is a form of BNI's commitment to supporting environmentally friendly movements to create a sustainable ecosystem.

With the concept of 'The Icon of Emerald', Roykee said it would offer banking services that are of higher quality and seemed luxurious. "The aim is to elaborate BNI's identity into an iconic building that is able to provide its own experience in banking services that are more exclusive and luxurious," he explained. The function of this building is to serve BNI customers and as an office space equipped with various exclusive features, including exclusive tenants, exclusive ballroom, sports facilities, sky lounge and sky garden.

On the same occasion, the President Director of PT Pembangunan Perumahan Tbk (PP), Novel Arsyad, said that the budget to build this three-tower building reached IDR 1.4 trillion. Meanwhile, his party is targeting a construction period of up to 17 months.

The emerald or gemstone design concept has the meaning of elaborating an elegant, dynamic identity. Apart from that, Novel explained that this exclusive concept will be presented with a classy architectural touch to add to the impression of comfort for customers.
