The Indonesian Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation together with Agung Sedayu Group participated through their humanitarian mission, in the Bebenah Kampung Kamal Muara Program (Kamal Muara Village Improvement Program) in stages, since 2019. The renovation process which also started in 2023 has now been completed and was inaugurated on Saturday, October 19th 2024, located at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Islam 1 (Nurul Islam Elementary School) Kamar Muara.

This event was inaugurated by the Mayor of North Jakarta, Dr. Ali Maulana Hakim, S.IP., M.Si., and attended by Pui Sudarto, Deputy Chair of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Development Committee, Hong Tjhin as General Secretary of Tzu Chi Indonesia, Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, M.M. as Director of Estate Management PIK and Belly Djaliel as the Directors of Agung Sedayu Group.

Mr. Ali Maulana expressed his appreciation for Tzu Chi Indonesia’s acts of kindness, which he said had become a real example of caring for others. “So today there are three inaugurations; madrasah, mosque, and a house renovation. This is a one package and it is very good, a place of worship, a school and a residence, it is a concern for Tzu Chi to share with others. “We, the government, really urge other parties to emulate things like this,” said Ali.

Eight key house units that were successfully renovated in the Bebenah Kampung Kamal Muara Program were handed over to residents receiving assistance, namely Supriadi, Masudi, Ambo Ake, Nyaimi, Muhadi, Maspiah, Rakiman, and Misa. Apart from building residents’ houses, Tzu Chi’s Bebenah Kampung Program (Village Improvement Program) in Kamal Muara has also completed helping to rebuild Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Islam 1, which was founded in 1985, an elementary school for the majority of children in Kamal Muara.

A total of 248 students can now enjoy a comfortable learning environment since the start of the new school year on July 15th 2024. With a stronger building structure, teachers are expected to be able to teach more effectively so that students can gain knowledge to prepare for their future. 

The Nurul Bahar Mosque located in Hamlet 04 Kamal Muara which was inaugurated has been completely renovated by Tzu Chi together with Agung Sedayu Group. The construction began in July 2023 and was completed in August 2024. This two-storey mosque now has a capacity of up to 300 people and in the future it will also function as a place for Al-Qur’an Learning Center (TPA) for children around Hamlet 04, Kamal Muara.

With the implementation of this program, it is hoped that the surrounding community, especially Kamal Muara, will get a decent place to live, school and place of worship, in order to build a better future and create a harmonious and loving environment.
