As an entity that is always at the forefront in providing the latest project information, BCI Central is back to hold the annual BCI Asia Awards which is presented to appreciate the industry of construction, especially developers and architects. This year, the BCI Asia Awards (BCIAA) 2024 Indonesia was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024, at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta. This series of events was held in 7 (seven) BCI Central operational countries in Asia, namely Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. 

This award event has been held regularly by BCI since 2005 and has become one of the most prestigious benchmarks in Asia for the construction industry. Its objective and neutral assessment method makes this event trusted by well-known developers and architects, as well as stakeholders in the construction sector. 

As in previous years, BCI Central determined 10 (ten) developers and 10 (ten) architectural bureaus which were identified based on the aggregate value of projects under construction during the last calendar year. “The value of the project is then weighed on the sustainability efforts carried out in the construction process,” said Pietter Sanjaya as General Manager Emerging Market of BCI Central. 

Apart from projects that have entered the construction implementation stage, pre-tender projects are also included in the assessment to appreciate green and environmentally friendly design efforts from the design and documentation stages. This is done to support BCI Central’s objectives, one of which is prioritising aspects of the built environment in the construction industry. For this reason, BCI Central applies additional assessment (extra credit) for projects that promote sustainability and green building principles.

In BCIAA 2024, the total project value calculated from the Top 10 Developers reaches USD 2.07 billion or equivalent to Rp. 31.80 trillion. Meanwhile, the total project value accumulated by the Top 10 Architects reaches USD 2.34 billion or equivalent to Rp. 36.04 trillion. 

Based on the 3 criteria and the project value calculation, Agung Sedayu Group won the award in the Top Ten Developers 2024 category for the third time. 

In addition to the handing of the BCI Asia Top 10 Awards, at the same event and place, the FuturArc Prize 2024 and BCI Interior Design Awards 2024 were also held. “We from BCI Central are grateful that we can still be trusted to lead one of the ways in which we can connect the achievements of the prominent Architect and Developers and how we recognize what will come ahead,” said Pietter Sanjaya.
