PIK2 STRENGTHENS ITS SANITATION COMMITMENT, ADVANCING TELUKNAGA AND PAKUHAJI TOWARD ODF STATUS
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua Tbk (PIK2), in collaboration with PT Surya Pertiwi Tbk (TOTO), has implemented a sanitation program through the declaration of Open Defecation Free (ODF) status in Kampung Besar Village, Teluknaga District, and Pakuhaji Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency.
The program was realized through the construction of 71 sanitation units in Pakuhaji and 55 units in Kampung Besar Village. This initiative represents a tangible commitment to fostering a clean, healthy environment free from open defecation practices.
Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, M.M., Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group, emphasized the broader purpose of the initiative, “This program aims to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining public health while strengthening the spirit of togetherness. The communities in Tangerang Regency need our support, and we are not alone in this effort. Moving forward, we hope there will be many more contributions in collaboration with Agung Sedayu Group and PIK2 to help develop the communities of Tangerang Regency. With this ODF Declaration, we hope these facilities will be properly utilized, leading to improved public health outcomes.”
Support for the initiative was also expressed by the Tangerang Regency Government. The Head of the Tangerang Regency Health Office, dr. Hendra Tarmizi, MARS, stated, “ODF is one of the essential steps we must take to improve public health standards. One of the President’s key priority programs is tackling stunting, and one effective way to prevent stunting is through achieving ODF status. We hope that with ODF implementation in our villages, public health will improve and stunting rates will decline. On behalf of the Tangerang Regency Government, we extend our gratitude to PIK2 and TOTO for their support in building these sanitation facilities, helping to reduce health-related challenges in our region.”
The ODF Declaration stands as a strong example of collaboration between the private sector and government in promoting clean and healthy living behaviors. Through sustainable and ongoing initiatives, PIK2 reaffirms its commitment to building not only physically developed areas, but also communities with improved quality of life.
