AGUNG SEDAYU GROUP DISTRIBUTES RP 6 BILLION OF CSR FUNDS TO ACCELERATE THE COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MERAH PUTIH VILLAGE/SUB-DISTRICT IN TANGERANG REGENCY
In an attempt to strengthen the foundations of people's economy and encourage community empowerment at the village and sub-district levels, Agung Sedayu Group, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, distributed the first phase of funding assistance amounting to Rp 6,000,000,000 to 60 cooperatives in Merah Putih villages/sub-districts spread across Tangerang Regency.
The handover of this assistance was marked by the Launching of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-District Cooperative Acceleration Funding CSR Program, which was held at the Tigaraksa Multipurpose Building, Tangerang Regency, on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The event was attended by important figures, including the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, the Governor of Banten, and the Regent of Tangerang, who symbolically carried out the process of handing over the assistance to representatives of the beneficiary village/sub-district cooperatives.
“Support from the private sector, including Agung Sedayu Group, is a concrete proof of the involvement of all parties in supporting and ensuring the success of the Merah Putih cooperation program, which is one of the President’s flagship programs,” said the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ferry Juliantono.
Through this CSR program, Agung Sedayu Group is committed to accelerating the empowerment of cooperatives as the backbone of the local economy. Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, M.M, as Estate Management Director of Agung Sedayu Group, explained that “This CSR initiative is part of Agung Sedayu Group's commitment to encourage the Merah Putih cooperatives that will be established in Tangerang Regency. A total of 274 cooperatives will be established, and today we are providing CSR funding for the first phase to 60 cooperatives, with each cooperative receiving CSR assistance amounting to IDR 100 million. Agung Sedayu Group hopes that the Merah Putih village/sub-district cooperatives can immediately start operating in accordance with the President's directive to help the community in the economy so that the entire community and its components will move forward together." The funding is expected to be used for the development of productive businesses, member capital, and increasing the managerial capacity of cooperatives in villages and sub-districts.
This activity is also a concrete proof of collaboration between the government and the business world in accelerating economic equality through the strengthening of community-based cooperatives. The presence of central and regional stakeholders shows strong support for the development of the people's economy in the Tangerang area.
With the implementation of this CSR program, it is expected that resilient, transparent, and professional village and sub-district cooperatives will emerge — capable of managing sustainable businesses and creating a positive impact on the welfare of the surrounding communities.
