Morning skies in Tanjung Burung Village, Teluknaga, looked brighter as Tzu Chi community volunteers and employees of Agung Sedayu Group rolled up their sleeves to clean up the Cisadane River. Through the PIK2 CSR program in collaboration with River Impact Indonesia (Eco Waste Bank), the River Cleanup and Waste Sorting activity held on October 14, 2025, served as concrete evidence of environmental awareness.

Before this program was introduced, many residents still disposed or burned their waste due to limited facilities. Now, through awareness campaigns and the presence of the Waste Bank, the community is encouraged to manage waste more wisely. The collected waste is sorted into categories such as plastic, metal, paper, wood, and bamboo, which are then processed into useful products like crafts and household items.

This initiative is not merely a cleanup activity, but also instills a sense of shared responsibility. As one member stated, “If not us, who else will protect the environment? If not now, when will it be?”
Every small step and every piece of waste collected is a significant contribution toward a cleaner and more sustainable future for our planet.
