STORYTELLING FOR CHILDREN IN MUARA VILLAGE, TELUK NAGA DISTRICT

Tzu Chi–ASG Volunteer Community supported the PIK2 CSR Program by participating as Storytellers in the Literacy Corner Activity for children aged 2-12 years old in Muara Village, Teluk Naga District, held on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
This activity is part of the 4 Literacy Corner sessions in October, carrying the theme “Youth Pledge.” The series includes: Storytelling & Quiz; Learning about Youth Pledge by watching historical films; Coloring, drawing/painting a map of Indonesia & Quiz about islands in Indonesia; and learning to count.

The students were divided into three age groups: Group I: children aged 2-6 years, Group II: children aged 7-9 years, and Group III: children aged 10-12 years. This activity was also accompanied by local teaching staff.
In the first week of October, the Literacy Corner held storytelling activities together with the Tzu Chi–ASG Volunteer Community with various story themes. The excitement of this activity made the children enthusiastic and listened attentively until the very end.

The volunteers were not only there to teach them to read, tell stories, or answer questions, but also to ignite the children's enthusiasm through interaction and care. As expressed by Veronica Mithaulina, one of the Agung Sedayu Group employee volunteers who participated in this activity for the first time, she felt happy and enthusiastic.
“We hope that there will be more events like this so that the bond between employees and the community will be maintained, and we can also contribute what we can and have for the wider community.”
