HANDOVER OF KEYS FOR THE RED WHITE HOUSE RENOVATION PROGRAM WORKING TOGETHER TO REALIZE NEW HOPES
CSR PIK2, in collaboration with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, launched the Bebenah Kampung (Village Improvement) program, an initiative to renovate 500 uninhabitable houses in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. To date, 115 houses have been renovated, while hundreds more are under reconstruction.
On September 17, 2025, the key handover ceremony was held in Patramanggala Village, Kemiri District. The event was attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maruarar Sirait; Regent of Tangerang, Ahmed Maesyal Rasyid; and Vice Chairman of the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia as well as Founder and Chairman of Agung Sedayu Group, Sugianto Kusuma (Aguan). Their presence underscored the strong synergy between the government, the business sector, and social organizations.
Minister Maruarar emphasized: “The largest housing renovation assistance from the private sector comes from the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation. Hopefully, all 500 houses can be completed before Eid al-Fitr 2026, so residents can celebrate happiness together.”
The renovation program is not only about repairing houses, but also about improving health, cleanliness, and human dignity. Several corporate tenants from IDD also contributed, including Sleep & Co, Bika Living, TOTO, JUNO Home, and Escalier.
Restu Mahesa, Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group, stressed that houses deemed unfit for renovation would be rebuilt from scratch to ensure that residents receive truly livable homes.
Aguan added: “I believe we need to call on the spirit of ‘gotong royong’ (mutual cooperation). Those who are able should be encouraged to join in supporting this government program.”
The Regent of Tangerang expressed his gratitude for the concern and collaboration of all parties. He noted that this program is not only about constructing houses, but also about fostering love, prayers, and new hopes.
This initiative demonstrates how design, collaboration, and social care can be integrated to create healthier, more organized, and more prosperous communities.
