LIFE-CHANGING CARE HOUSE RENOVATION SURVEY BY AGUNG SEDAYU GROUP & BUDDHA TZU CHI FOUNDATION

Amidst the challenges faced by many coastal residents in Tangerang, a ray of hope emerged through the collaboration between Agung Sedayu Group and the Buddha Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation. Through a home renovation program, teams from both organizations went directly into six districts—Kosambi, Teluknaga, Pakuhaji, Mauk, Kemiri, and Kronjo—on Friday, July 4, 2025, to assess housing conditions that were no longer livable and to monitor the progress of the ongoing renovations.

The program, which began on May 13, is not merely about rebuilding structures—it’s about restoring hope. “We witnessed firsthand the conditions of homes that were truly unfit to live in—some were on the verge of collapsing, others were damp and dark, making them unhealthy for living. We demolished and rebuilt them so that the residents can live more decently. We believe that a healthy home will nurture healthier families and a stronger generation in the future,” said Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, M.M., Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group, who personally visited the sites.

Take for example the story of Mrs. Siti, a nasi uduk vendor from Patramanggala Village, whose fragile house is now a livable home. “I’m very grateful and thankful. I hope this house brings blessings and allows my children to live healthier lives,” she said with tears in her eyes.
This initiative proves that genuine compassion can truly change lives. A house is not just a place to live—it is where dreams begin, dignity is preserved, and a better future is built.
