ITB COLLABORATES WITH PIK2 TO BUILD A NEW CAMPUS IN PIK2 STRATEGIC AREA
Bandung, June 23, 2025 - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) officially established a strategic
collaboration with PT Kukuh Mandiri Lestari, an entity of Agung Sedayu Group and Salim
Group, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing held at the ITB Rectorate
Building, Bandung.
The MoU was signed by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., and the
President Director of PT Kukuh Mandiri Lestari (PIK2), Lieutenant General (Mar) (Ret.) Dr.
Nono Sampono, S.Pi., M.Si. This collaboration is the first step in establishing an ITB
Campus in the prestigious PIK2 area, Tangerang, Banten.
This collaboration aims to develop institutions and improve both parties; work programs in
the Tridarma of Higher Education, which includes education, research, and community
service. The collaboration also includes the utilization, development, and operation of the
ITB Campus in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK2), Tangerang, Banten.
Prof. Tata emphasized the importance of synergy between higher education and the private
sector. "We welcome this collaboration as one of the strategic moments to expand the scope
of ITB. This is a good opportunity. At ITB, we not only build the physical infrastructure, but
we also aim to be a globally recognized university that gives relevant impact to society," he
said.
He hopes that the existence of ITB PIK2 Campus will not only expand access to quality
education, but also become a mobilizer of applicative research and community
empowerment in coastal areas and its surroundings.
Meanwhile, Nono Sampono expressed his commitment to fully support the construction of
this campus. "For us, this is a form of real contribution from the private sector to the
development of the nation. In the current era, infrastructure development must be in line with
human resource development. The Tridarma of Higher Education is an important basis for
this cooperation" he said.
He also said that the ITB campus will be part of the PIK2 Campus District development,
which is designed as a center for education, innovation, and industry-academic
collaboration. In addition, this collaboration also supports the development of Menara
Syariah, as a symbol of the modern sharia economy in Indonesia.
In the initial stage, the planned study programs include:
School of Business and Management, Faculty of Health Technology, Faculty of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and Landscape Architecture and Area Planning.
Through this collaboration, ITB and PIK2 are committed to realizing higher education that is
inclusive, relevant, and adaptive to current changes. More than merely a campus
development project, this MoU marks the beginning of a joint journey to produce a future
generation that is resilient and globally competitive.
