TELUKNAGA 34TH TABUH BEDUG FESTIVAL CULTURAL HARMONY, RELIGIOUS SPIRIT, AND TOGETHERNESS
The sound of tabuh bedug echoed from Teluknaga Square, bringing the spirit of togetherness, the power of tradition, and religious values combined in a cultural celebration that has been rooted for more than three decades. The 34th Tabuh Bedug Festival of Teluknaga Sub-district was once again held as an important moment to celebrate cultural heritage and strengthen the social bonds of the society.
Under the theme “Together with Culture We Build a Smart and Religious Society”, this festival is not only a feast of tradition, but also a place for religious expression and preservation of local wisdom values that live in the midst of society. This activity is an annual agenda that has become a cultural and religious icon in Tangerang Regency, as well as strong evidence of the joint commitment between the local government and the private sector, including CSR PIK2, in maintaining the nation's cultural heritage.
The festival began at the night of the Eid al-Adha takbir with a tabuh bedug audition, followed by a lively carnival presenting the creativity of residents from 12 villages. The climax took place at Tunas Jaya Field (Teluknaga Square) on Sunday, June 8, 2025, where 19 tabuh bedug teams with more than 1,000 participants took part and 20,000 people attended the main event. Each bedug beat is not just a rhythm, but a symbol of community solidarity, dedication and spirituality.
The Regent of Tangerang through the Regional Secretary, Drs. H. Soma Ajmaja, M.Si, expressed his deep appreciation for this cultural preservation. He emphasized that the Tabuh Bedug Festival is not only a tradition that has been maintained for 34 years, but has become the identity of the Teluknaga people. “We will continue to support cultural activities that are educational, spiritual, and social like this,” he said, while inviting the community to strengthen friendship for the common good.
Similarly, Teluknaga Sub-District Head, Zamzam Manohara expressed his gratitude for the support from various parties, including PIK2 who not only sponsored the event, but also made a real contribution in the form of Umrah tickets as a religious appreciation for the community.
The festival was also a platform for collaboration between art communities, cultural actors, and the private sector. Alkahf Abdi Putra, Head of Kastara (North Tangerang Art and Culture Community), mentioned that the spirit of mutual cooperation is the life of this festival. “We unite to preserve culture,” he said, emphasizing the importance of synergy across elements of society.
The same support came from Dr. Ir. H. Restu Mahesa, MM, Director of Estate Management at Agung Sedayu Group, who hoped that this event would continue and provide long-term benefits for the people of Teluknaga and Tangerang Regency as a whole.
The 34th Tabuh Bedug Festival is more than just an annual event, it is a real manifestation of the spirit to build a harmonious, smart and religious society. In the bedug beats that echoed that night, there was a hope that culture would live on, that the younger generation would not forget their roots, and that religious values would continue to grow in the frame of togetherness.
With the collaboration of the government, the community, and private parties such as the CSR of PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua, Tbk, this festival is an example that culture and social development can go hand in hand, creating a space that strengthens local identity in the midst of globalization.
The 34th Tabuh Bedug Festival is not only about who is the strongest in beating the bedug, but also about who is the most sincere in maintaining harmony, culture, and religious values. In the midst of technological advancement, Teluknaga once again proved that tradition is not to be abandoned, but to be celebrated and passed on.
