AGUNG SEDAYU GROUP AND WARGA BUMIPUTERA INDONESIA COLLABORATE TO RECOVER THE COASTAL MANGROVES
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Agung Sedayu Group together with DPP Warga Bumiputera Indonesia (WBI), Natabumi WBI, and the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and Environment, held a mangrove planting action at Tanjung Pasir, Teluknaga, Tangerang. The activity themed “Warga Bumiputera Indonesia Recover The Coastal Mangroves” aims to restore the coastal ecosystem while protecting the environment from abrasion and climate change.
Led by WBI Chairman, General TNI (Ret.) AM Hendropriyono, this activity targets the initial planting of ±7,142 mangrove trees out of a total of ±15.000 trees, which will cover up to 1.600 hectares of land in various parts of Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of Environment, Diaz Hendropriyono, emphasized the importance of mangrove preservation as a form of protection from floods and climate crisis. “Today we are affirm to protect the environment, so that we can live without flooding due to the rising sea levels, and a lot of carbon dioxide will be absorbed by mangroves,” Diaz said. And it was emphasized that this mangrove planting must be followed by the spirit of not littering.
Meanwhile, President Director of Agung Sedayu Group, Lieutenant General (Mar) (Ret.) Nono Sampono stated that this step is a part of the moral and legal commitment in sustainable development.
This cross-sector collaboration is expected to have a real impact on environmental preservation and community welfare.
