PIK 2 Soon Presents The Largest Automotive Centre in Indonesia, PIK 2 Automotive District

In recent years, the national automotive industry has shown quite attractive development. Based on official data from the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenperin), the automotive industry is one of the mainstay sectors that has a considerable contribution to the national economy with a total investment value of 99.16 trillion Rupiah.

Seeing the increasing market growth, Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group as leading property developers helped encourage the birth of the national automotive industry through the construction of the PIK 2 Automotive District.

Celebrating this achievement, PIK 2 together with the manager of the PIK 2 Automotive District as well as the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament and the Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Bambang Soesatyo, held the ground breaking construction of the largest automotive centre in Indonesia on March 9, 2022.

Also present were the leaders of PIK 2 Automotive District included Sanny Liawati (President Commissioner), Lioe Cie Hung (Commissioner), Iwan Tjahjadi (President Director), Daniel Hermanto (Director), and Josua Juan Setiawan (Chief Operating Officer). Then also attended the event representatives of Agung Sedayu Group, Natalia Kusumo (CEO of Hotels & Malls Division 2) and Ipeng Widjojo (Director of Business Development).

"The first phase of the construction of PIK 2 Automotive District is carried out on an area of approximately 3 hectares and will include 132 showrooms ranging from general importers, accessories to other automotive supporting components," said Bamsoet. "The target is that the first phase will be completed in August and fully operational by September 2022."

Strategically located in the main boulevard area of PIK 2, PIK 2 Automotive District is expected to be the main destination for the gathering of industry activists and various automotive lovers who are members of clubs and communities. In addition, PIK 2 Automotive District is also expected to not only be a gallery of super cars, but also various vehicles produced domestically.

"We see the potential of a promising automotive business," said President Commissioner of PIK 2 Automotive District, Sanny Liawati. He added that Indonesia's demographics in 2045 will be dominated by productive millennial. Therefore, the expansion of the PIK2 area will help the spread of Jakarta's population and improve the national economy.

Director of Investor Relations of Agung Sedayu Group, Soesilawati also said that the PIK2 area stands on an area of approximately 2650 hectares and will continue to be expanded. "The location of the largest automotive centre in Indonesia is in the development phase of I PIK 2 covering an area of 1000 hectares".

"The construction of the toll road which is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023 also further expands the main access to the region," he added.

The presence of the PIK2 Automotive District further complements the variety of facilities available in PIK2. Both tourist facilities such as white sand beaches and greenbelt, to shopping facilities such as Sedayu Watertown Mall, TokyoHub, Asian Town to Rukan Marina Bay.
