“This is a joyous day. PIK2, together with all community officials, is here to contribute to the residents of Kohod Village through a horticulture demplot initiative. This aligns with the directives of our President, Prabowo Subianto, in strengthening food security. May it bring blessings,” said Restu Mahesa.
The program utilizes an area of approximately 2,500 m² in Kohod Village, marking the initial step toward optimal land utilization. It aims to boost harvest yields and positively impact farmers’ welfare. A total of approximately 5,000 plants will be cultivated on the land, divided into 6 main crops: curly red chilies, green bird’s eye chilies, purple eggplants, bitter gourds, bottle gourds, and sweet corn.
“On behalf of the religious leaders of Pakuhaji Sub-District, I extend my gratitude to PIK2 for supporting our community through agricultural assistance, which aligns with our President’s initiatives. Hopefully, the agricultural assistance in Kohod Village will produce fruitful yields such as chilies, tomatoes, and curly chilies. We hope this effort is not limited to this area alone but extends to other northern coastal regions, enabling broader collaboration,” expressed H. Hasan Basri.
This program aspired to serve as a model for implementing effective and productive agricultural technology, maximizing outcomes in the agricultural sector and contributing to food security in the surrounding areas. Additionally, it seeks to educate farmers on efficient and effective cultivation techniques, ultimately fostering sustainable and self-reliant agriculture.
